Eyewitness to the Impossible: building trust on three continents
In August, 1938, following a far-reaching response in Sweden, especially amongst the intellectual leaders of social democracy and the industrial workers, a Scandinavian Assembly for Moral Re-Armament was held in the old Hanseatic city of Visby, on the Island of Gotland. Here, on this Swedish “island of ruins and roses”, hundreds gathered in the ruined cathedral, the only building large enough to hold them.
